Maptitude for windows is a leading edge desktop mapping software package. Desktop Mapping is more commonly referred to as Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Primarily it displays databases as maps, making them more easily digested as information. Users can develop their own maps or use the one supplied within Maptitude to display their database as a map.

The user could also attach a table of data to a towns file and have the symbol for each town change in shape, color or size depending on the values in the table. Typically the database could be a list of customers, sales invoices, statistical or census data.
